The Personal Information page helps us gather the initial information we need to process your claim.  If this is your first time submitting this information, please fill out each required field marked with an * (asterisk).  The Demographic information is used to determine the funding for the unemployment program.  If you have previously submitted this information, these fields will be automatically populated.  If any information has changed, simply edit the appropriate field.  When you are finished the entire page, click ‘Next’.

How do I determine my education level?

The education levels listed as choices match the national occupation standard.  Please select the highest level of education completed or certification achieved.  The choices of 1-12 years for schooling represent the first through twelfth grades. You will also need to provide the year of your high school graduation, which will be the 4-digit year that you completed the 12th grade. 

What do I need to enter for Identification (ID) Information?  

You will need to select whether you possess a Driver’s License, State-issued Non-Driver Identification or other form of picture identification (such as a Passport or Student ID). Only select “I do not have any picture identification” if that situation applies. Picture identification may be requested should you come to the NHWORKS Local Office for mandatory meetings or assistance.  

Depending on the type of ID you have selected, you need to provide the Identification Number and select whether a specific State, US territory (Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands) or the US Government issued the identification card.

Can I file a claim for benefits if I'm not a US citizen?

You can apply for benefits if you are not a US citizen provided you meet the following conditions: you have an Alien Authorization Number that allows you to work in the United States and you have had employment in New Hampshire within the past 18 months.  On the Personal Information page you will need to select the type of work authorization and provide your Alien Authorization Number and expiration date.
